The album of Ode to Billie Joe has historical significance. It was the first album ever in the history of The Billboard Charts to go #1 on both the pop and country album charts. It also went #5 on the black album charts, a rarity for a white female artist. Its massive 1960's sale of 1.5 million makes it the first #1 country album to sell a million copies for a solo artist and the first female #1 country album to go gold(there was no platinum award in 196).

What really astounded me upon first hearing this set was how they made the cheering between songs so seamless, like it was all from one show. Pretty remarkable when you go from a club performance to an arena or stadium.
